The Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, says the preparation of another police unit to supplant the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad will begin one week from now.

He vowed to explore all instances of ruthlessness by SARS agents and carry the culprits to book. EndSARS: Training of new unit starts one week from now, says IGP

Adamu talked when famous performer, David Adeleke otherwise known as Davido, visited him in office on Monday over the continuous #EndSARS fights.

He said with SARS being disbanded, there have to set up another structure. To do the obligations of the dead police unit which is battling fierce wrongdoings.

He said the new outfit would be knowledge-driven, appropriately prepared. And to just follow up on events that necessary their consideration.

He said the unit would be comprised of new staff with another direction and not officials from the rejected unit.

Adamu called for a quiet. Taking note of that Davido’s visit. To discuss the issue was the most ideal approach to manage the current issue.

Adamu expressed, “We just disbanded (SARS) yesterday (Sunday). So nonconformists should quiet down and give us an opportunity to fix the issue. The overall population will be important for the way toward getting another outfit.

“I’m conversing with you thus, I will continue conversing with numerous others.

And get common social orders included and get their contribution to the new unit.”

He said the issue of pay to the groups of those violated by SARS would be tended to when examinations were finished up.

“We need equity to be done and equity will be done,” he said.

He said officials of the disbanded unit would be retrained and given different obligations in the Force. Yet would not be reabsorbed into the new outfit.

“We concede the trust hole is wide yet we will attempt to overcome that issue,” Adamu guaranteed.

Davido requested the prompt arrival of all captured dissidents and called for equity and remuneration for the survivors of SARS brutality.
